Short version: your video and sound never pass through our servers, we don't have accounts, and there's no tracking or ads.

Who we are

Studiko is a small independent project based in Ireland. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your video and sound

When you connect your phone, video and sound go directly from your phone to your laptop over your own network, always encrypted. If your networks block a direct connection (for example, the phone on mobile data and the laptop on home Wi-Fi), the encrypted video may pass through a relay server on its way. Today that's a free community relay run by the PeerJS project; it forwards the encrypted stream but can't see or hear it, and keeps nothing. If you use your laptop camera or a webcam, the video never leaves your laptop. The same goes for drawings from a tablet: they travel directly from the tablet to your laptop.

Your recordings

Recordings, thumbnails, scripts and settings are saved only in your browser on your laptop. We never receive them. Clearing your browser's data for this site deletes them, so download anything you want to keep.

Services the app uses to work

If you send feedback

The feedback form (Google Forms) collects your email and your answers. We use them only to improve the app and to send occasional emails about important updates. We'll delete them whenever you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (usually just an email address and feedback answers). You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
